6 Cheetah Cubs Die in Kuno National Park In Last 60 Days. Two Cub Recently Die.

Three cubs died in three days, condition of one is stable

Two more cheetah cubs died on Thursday afternoon from Sheopur Kuno National Park. The condition of the remaining one cub is stable. All three cubs were ill since May 23. Earlier on the morning of May 23, a cub had died. 3 cubs have died in three days, while six (3 adults, 3 cubs) have died in 60 days. There are now 17 adult cheetahs and one cub left in Kuno. According to the management, on the morning of May 29, a cub of female cheetah Jwala had died. The team of doctors monitored the remaining 3 cubs and Jwala.

The condition of the cubs did not look good due to heat and heat stroke. The doctors decided to treat the cubs. Two cubs died during treatment. The central government has appointed a steering committee after the death of the cubs.

Initial Cause, 
Kuno officials say the cubs were found weak, underweight and highly dehydrated. The cubs were 8 weeks old. In this stage the cubs mostly move with the mother. The cubs started roaming with the mother 8-10 days ago. Post mortem will be done as per protocol

Expert Advice
Collaborative cheetah experts from Namibia and South Africa are being consulted. The cubs' mother Jwala is healthy. He has also been kept under observation.
